Good Morning! Hope you're ready for the week ahead - I'm feeling like Spring may finally be on the way, so let's hope it gets warmer and the rain stays on the liquid side...
- Bought Jacob his first Moleskine journal on Saturday at Barnes and Noble. Bought him a three pack of the cahier style journals. One he's decided will be his "Story Journal" - a place for him to write down all these creative stories he has rolling around in his head. The second was my choice - a "Conversation Journal" where we can each write our thoughts and then ask each other questions; a running dialogue of sorts. The third is undecided, though at the moment he's leaning towards it being a second story journal. Can you tell he's my son?
- Had another great service yesterday at New Life! I love being a part of what God is doing in the lives of our people.
- Several new faces over the last few weeks makes me feel good and hopeful about the future of the church.
- I may publicly challenge us over the next couple of weeks to see if we can hit 100 in attendance for Easter??
- We're also raising some money to give ourselves a much-needed facelift to some key building and grounds issues that will hopefully communicate a better vibe to the rest of our community as they drive by us every day.
- Been teaching some tough messages on the renovation of our hearts - this week I nailed all of us guys on disciplining our eyes to not have to look at every attractive woman that walks past us. It's possible to be COMPLETELY SATISFIED with the one woman God gave you, to be captivated by her beauty - I know that's what he wants from us!
- Love being part of our worship team right now. All of them are working hard to make the musical aspect of our service the best it can possibly be, and I'm so appreciative of their efforts.
- Just this morning finished a book that's been on my "should read" list for quite a while - "Good to Great" by Jim Collins. I think I may spend some time this week blogging my thoughts on some of his key concepts and how I think I can apply some of them at New Life.
May the beauty, wonder, and goodness of God capture the attention of your eyes, fill up the vision of your hearts, and transform you more into his image today. Grace and peace be with you all.
Dave is a huge Moleskine fan, and I may have to steal your idea and have him take Nina to B&N for one of her own now that she's reading/writing...
